Director is a managed IaaS solution that provides a complete set of virtualized IT resources. It enables you to independently manage your own virtual datacenter, without having to worry about the underlying physical infrastructure.

This offer is built on the VMware® vCloud Director® suite.
Each resource pool is defined based on the following criteria:

• Virtual CPU capacity (in GHz),
• Virtual memory (vRAM) allocation (in GB),
• Storage size and type (high-performance or capacity-based), measured in GB.

The computing power is expressed in GHz and does not limit the number of virtual CPUs (vCPUs) assigned to individual virtual machines (VMs) or across the entire allocated resource pool.

You can create as many VMs as you need, and assign as many vCPUs per VM as desired.
However, the total CPU usage at any given time (at a specific point in time) cannot exceed the capacity of the allocated pool.

With the Director offer, you gain access to the following self-service features:

• Allocation of virtual resources (CPU, memory, disk space, and network),
• User management and role-based access control,
• Management of your virtual servers and vApps (pre-configured groups of VMs),
• Management of server images (ISO files, VMDK, etc.),
• Daily snapshots of your virtual servers with 7-day retention,
• Multi-operator Internet connectivity with DDoS protection handled at the telecom operator level.

Director simplifies the management of your Virtual Datacenter resources through a web-based console, especially for the creation and administration of virtual machines (VMs). With this interface, you can:

• Use an administrator account to manage users and define access rights,
• Configure internal and external networks for your virtual datacenter (including Internet and MPLS) to make VMs accessible from outside,
• Manage network security: firewalls, optional VPN access, and private IP addressing for your VMs,
• Manage your system image catalog for VM creation (KDDI France provides standard Windows and Linux system images),
• Create and manage VMs and vApps — preconfigured sets of VMs that operate together as an application group,
• Access operational logs to monitor system activities.

The high-performance and fully redundant network infrastructure of KDDI France's datacenters provides up to 1 Gbps bandwidth on the network interfaces of your virtual machines.

Internet access to your virtual machines is secured by an Edge firewall, supported by clustered infrastructure to ensure reliability.
The KDDI France expert team continuously monitors network traffic to maintain the highest level of security.

They also support you in managing data flows and in setting up secure VPN tunnels to access your VMs safely from external environments.

Your virtual servers configured with our Director solution can be equipped with two types of storage:

• High-performance storage using full-flash SSD drives, offering input/output capabilities up to 10 times faster than traditional spinning disks.
• Capacity-optimized storage, based on conventional hard drives with SSD caching. This option is ideal for cost-efficient storage of less frequently accessed data.

VMware® services offer maximum resilience, power, and flexibility:

• Live migration of virtual machines between hypervisors with no service interruption
